MIN-SHENG GENERAL HOSPITAL 敏盛醫院

Process/day by day

  1. 1. Use email to inquire about a treatment for your condition. By filling out and attaching the International Patient Questionnaire you will make it easier for us to assess your case.
  2. 2. Our International Healthcare Department (IHC) will get back to you on your inquiry as soon as possible, usually within hours if we receive the inquiry during the week.
  3. 3. We will let you know if we need more information to evaluate your case.
  4. 4. You will receive a quote for the procedure, as well as more details regarding what to expect.
  5. 5. When you have confirmed your interest in moving forward with the procedure, a conference call can be organized with the treating physician.
  6. 6. A date is set for the procedure/surgery.
  7. 7. Upon agreement on a course of treatment and arrival date, you wire the hospital a deposit of no less than 50% of the package price to confirm the booking.
  8. 8. You organize your trip to Taiwan. We can assist you with hotel booking, and airport pick up should you plan to arrive in Taiwan before the procedure.
  9. 9. Once in Taiwan, an IHC representative will contact you at your hotel, or meet you in the lobby of the hospital if you are coming straight from the airport.
  10. 10. You will receive outpatient examination, or be admitted to the hospital right away if the surgery has been scheduled for the day after your arrival.
  11. 11. You will meet with the surgeon and the anesthesiologist, and undergo all the tests prescribed by the attending physician.
  12. 12. You will be asked to pay the balance of the surgical package cost.
  13. 13. Surgery will be performed as scheduled.
  14. 14. Depending on the surgery, you will be discharged when your condition is deemed medically stable, or you will stay hospitalized a pre-determined number of days during your recovery.
  15. 15. While hospitalized you will receive daily visits from your treating physician, as well as nursing care from your case manager, and ward nurses. Orthopedic patients will have physiotherapy sessions on site.
  16. 16. When your condition permits it you will be released from the hospital, and you will continue your recovery in a nearby hotel, or fly home. We put the safety of our patients first and require that our patients stay in Taiwan for a minimum of time after invasive surgeries (like orthopedic surgery); this is to reduce the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) associated with long periods of immobilization during air travel.
  17. 17. Before leaving the hospital you will settle all outstanding fees, if any. You will be given a discharged note (in English) and copies of other medical reports if necessary.
  18. 18. Patients travelling alone and whose condition requires assistance are advised to remain hospitalized until their departure. The price for the extra days at the hospital for recovery will be clearly indicated in the quote.
  19. 19. You will come back to the hospital for one more follow up visit before your departure. If necessary, your physician will prescribe the necessary medication for the immediate period after your departure.
