MIN-SHENG GENERAL HOSPITAL 敏盛醫院

Process

  1. Contact Min-Sheng’s International Healthcare Center to enquire about bariatric procedures. In order to see if you are a candidate for this type of surgery we will need some basic information like:
    • - Your age
    • - Height and weight
    • - Gender
    • - Current medical condition (comorbidities?)
    • -What you expect from a bariatric procedure

If you are seeking a bariatric procedure to treat a metabolic problem we will probably ask you to provide us with some data from a recent blood test.

  2. We will contact you by email and provide you with a quote for what is the most appropriate type of bariatric surgery for you.
  3. If you have any question you are welcome to contact us and we will answer them diligently.
  4. Should you decide to proceed with the surgery we will give you a choice of dates when you can have your bariatric procedure done at our center.
  5. To book the surgery we ask the patient to pay a deposit of no less than fifty percent of the total package price.
  6. We will help you book accommodation in a nearby hotel, and airport pick up should you need it.
  7. On the appointed day we will meet you at the hospital and take you for a consultation with the surgeon and the case manager.
  8. You will be admitted at the hospital and administrative duties will be performed in your private room.
  9. You will undergo a series of routine, and other tests prescribed by the surgeon.
  10. You will meet with the anesthesiologist, and other specialists if your current condition requires it.
  11. You will rest and basically prepare for surgery the next day.
  12. You will be administrated a laxative the night before the surgery to help you flush out as much fecal material as possible.
  13. On day 2, you will have surgery then come back to your room when your condition has stabilized.
  14. In the next days you will be visited by your case manager, surgeon, and be under the constant care of our nursing staff.
  15. You will be visited by a dietician who will instruct you on the diet to follow in the weeks after surgery and beyond.
  16. Two to four days (depending on the procedure) after surgery you will be discharged from the hospital and allowed to continue your recovery in a nearby hotel. IHC personnel will stay in contact with you to make sure that all is fine.
  17. One week after surgery you will come back to the hospital for a follow up visit with the surgeon. You will be provided with a special cream for a better cosmetic effect of your (small) scars, as well as medicine for you to take home.
  18. You can now return home, proceed with your recovery, and gradually return to a normal life.
